The main campus of the Polytechnic is sited at Kilometre 8, along Gboko-Aliade/Otukpo Trunk “A” Road. The Polytechnic occupies the site of the defunct barracks of the 24 Infantry Battalion of the Nigerian Army at Atonko, which was relocated in the 1980s. It is a ten minutes’ drive from Gboko Town and a one-hour drive to and from Otukpo. The Benue State Remand Home is less than a Kilometre from the institution, and the Gboko Abattoir just a few meters from the Polytechnic’s main gate, making the institution easy to locate.
